FAQs
Availability
I do not have immediate availability at this time. As of 2024, I will open my availability a few times a year to a limited number of projects that fit within my schedule and desired themes (see Project Refusal section, below). To be informed when my project availability opens, please subscribe to my e-newsletter (form is at bottom of every page of this website), or follow me on Instagram or Facebook. When my availability opens, my Custom Work Inquiry Form will go live on my website, and you may submit your project for consideration while it is up.
Pricing
Typically, paper taxidermy/entomology projects start at around $300 for simple projects (single moths in 5”x7” frames, for example) and $1500 for medium sized projects (8”x10” to 11”x14”). Larger works range around $2,000-$5,000. Oversized works (any size longer than 36”) can be more. Illustration and linocut projects start at $500. These are rough estimates, however, and the more details you can give me up front about your project, the better I can gauge what it will cost.
Payment Plans
50% of the agreed final price of your project must be paid before I will commence work on your project. This is either a single payment, if I am able to start work immediately, or 25% paid up front (in the case of your project being on the waitlist) and 25% paid once your project reaches the top of the waitlist. The final 50% of the agreed final price is due once your project is complete and ready for delivery.
Larger projects may be split into monthly payments over a longer period of time if need be, though the first payment is still non-refundable, and refunds of subsequent payments may be subject to cancellation terms.
Payment Methods
Invoices for custom projects are sent to you via email through Quickbooks, and can be paid with card or bank draft. I do not personally acquire your payment information at any point, nor do I accept any other forms of payment (Venmo, CashApp, etc).
Contracts
All Beastie and Bone custom projects require a contract that is mutually agreed on, and signed by, all parties involved, before invoices will be sent and/or projects commence.
Turnaround
Paper originals can vary widely in the time needed to complete them. Small works can take as little as a couple of weeks, while larger scale projects take months. Illustration projects usually can be completed within a month once I begin work, while branding or design work a few months. These timelines can vary, however, depending on project complexity, and the speed of your own responses to when I check in with you for feedback on project progress. If you have a specific deadline in mind, please contact me as soon as possible, and be aware rush projects may be subject to additional fees.
Project Refusal
I reserve the right to deny any project at any time. I will not, however, ever accept any project that promotes harm or disrespect toward any people group, religion, gender, age, or nationality, or contains content that is sexually explicit.
Preference is given to projects that feature endangered species, paleontology, and natural history. I do not do pet portraits, fictional/fantastical species or species mashups, fanart, or character art.
